Home » Dr. Stephanie Becker Appointed as Chairperson of Jeremy’s Circle

Jeremy’s Circle, which supports children and youth from families affected by cancer or cancer-related loss, has announced Dr. Stephanie Becker as its new chairperson. Dr. Becker, an ophthalmologist, business entrepreneur, philanthropist, and social activist, has supported the organization since its 2008 founding. This appointment comes amid the organization’s expansion, particularly following the October 7th events, which increased the need for community resilience and youth support.

In her role, Dr. Becker will focus on raising public and philanthropic awareness in the U.S. while advancing new emotional and social support initiatives. Recently, she launched a joint project with Lev Echad for evacuated youth, organizing 15 nationwide events. She also initiated an innovative running group connecting Israeli and American teenagers, set to debut at next month’s Dead Sea Marathon.

Jeremy’s Circle provides children and youth respite from family cancer through experiential activities and community events. The community serves over 1,100 families nationwide and hosts events throughout Israel to strengthen community bonds and personal resilience.

Dr. Becker stated: “When a family member is ill, it affects everyone. Resources naturally focus on the patient, so we aim to support children, youth, and families facing health crises. Since the organization’s founding, I’ve shared its vision, and now more than ever, I feel compelled to expand my responsibilities to ensure its continued positive impact.”

Stephanie succeeds her sister Pamela Becker, the organization’s founding chairperson, who will transition to CEO.

Jeremy’s Circle was established following Jeremy Coleman’s stage 4 stomach cancer diagnosis in May 2007. Friends supported his children (aged 6 months to 6 years) during his illness, inspiring the organization’s creation after his death in July 2008. The organization has since hosted over 150 physical and virtual events.
